Washington, D.C. – Today Senate Democrats voted unanimously against Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-SC) measure to prevent Democrats’ consumer gas price increase by striking the imported and domestic oil tax in today’s bill.
Democrats are clearly out of touch with the American people. It’s been a struggle this year for families to fill up their gas tanks and the Democrats want to add on another tax. They claim they want to lower prices for the American people, yet they continue to vote for tax hikes any chance they get.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman Juan Arias: “Democrats claim they want to lower the cost of living for Americans, but every time they have an opportunity to save the American people money, they choose to vote for higher taxes that put further burden on American families.”
