Washington, D.C. – Over 87% of Georgians support keeping the Braves name. Such a large percentage includes people from all walks of life and backgrounds.
Given such overwhelming support for a baseball team name, one would suspect that the state’s leading officials would lend their voice to keeping it in place. But, in the case of Raphael Warnock, you’d be wrong.
When asked by Fox News about it, Warnock all but punted on the issue: “I am aware that the Braves organization is having conversations with the Native American community. I trust them to work through that process and come to a conclusion that makes sense.”
A real profile in courage.
On the other hand, Herschel Walker has not minced words, supporting the name and calling the effort to change it a “sideshow from the Democrats’ failures.”
We’d venture to guess that most Georgians feel the same…
