Washington, D.C. – Cheri Beasley loves to bemoan the influence of big corporations in politics. She’s even gone so far as to say that she doesn’t take a dime of corporate PAC money.
Well, that is not the truth.
- In 2021 and 2022, Beasley accepted $133,000 from numerous leadership and association PACs that are funded by corporate PAC contributions, including Amazon, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and Google.
- In 2021 and 2022, Beasley accepted $284,663 from corporate executives.
- In 2021 and 2022, Beasley accepted $18,119 from corporate lobbyists, including from Big Tobacco and Big Pharma lobbyists.
Will Cheri Beasley return the money? We doubt it. But it’s clear that Cheri Beasley is more interested in political talking points than the actual money. Hypocrisy at its finest.
Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “This cycle, Democrats across the nation have exhausted themselves repeating the lie that they don’t take corporate PAC money. It’s a joke. The numbers are publicly available. If Beasley feels comfortable lying about something so easily disprovable, then what else will she lie about?”
