Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, we told you about the bombshell story that Raphael Warnock’s church owns a low-income housing building that gave eviction notices to people owing as little as $28.55 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total sum of past-due rent cited in lawsuits is only $4,900. A staggeringly small sum when you consider that Warnock collects $7,417 A MONTH from his church as a housing allowance.
Instead of Warnock offering to donate some of that allowance to those struggling in his church’s own building during a pandemic, he did nothing.
Herschel Walker, however, has decided not to just stand by while low-income tenants, including veterans, are “treated like shit.”
Warnock and Walker are both millionaires. But only one wanted to part with his hard-earned money to help others: Herschel Walker.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Deeds matter, not words. The more we learn about Raphael Warnock the more we understand a massive disconnect between his words and deeds. Owning a building that evicts people during a pandemic isn’t a good look for anyone, especially a wealthy preacher who also happens to be a U.S. Senator.”
