Washington, D.C. – We weren’t sure which Tim Ryan we would get tonight. He follows wherever the political winds are blowing, and as a 20-year career politician, Tim Ryan’s been all over the map on almost every issue. So, it’s kind of like he’s debating himself.
Here is Tim Ryan vs. Tim Ryan on the fentanyl crisis:
As of September 2022, there have been 12,850 pounds of fentanyl seizures and 1,367 fentanyl seizure events thanks to Joe Biden’s and Senate Democrats’ open border policies.
Over the summer, Ryan introduced legislation that would recognize fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction. However, he has previously voted multiple times against efforts to crack down on fentanyl and strengthen narcotics enforcement.
- In 2021, Ryan voted against a committee amendment to direct $75 million for the DEA’s efforts to address fentanyl trafficking.
- In 2020, Ryan did not cast a vote on a bill extending a ban on fentanyl.
- In 2018, Ryan voted against a bill to crack down on synthetic analogues for illegal drugs such as fentanyl.
- In 2017, Ryan voted against increased funding for the International Narcotics Control & Law Enforcement Division.
Not to mention, he has taken campaign donations – $27,000 – over the years from “drug companies in the opioid crisis.”
To make matters worse regarding his previous votes, in 2020, fentanyl was involved in 81% of overdose deaths in Ohio.
Two-faced Tim’s votes were taken in accordance with what his Washington Democrat leaders wanted, not what was in the best interest of Ohio.
