Washington, D.C. – Today, the NRSC released a new poll showing Senator Chuck Grassley up by 11 points against Mike Franken, a position that has been stable for some time. Grassley is capturing 61% of Independent voters in this latest survey and the Senator’s image and job approval remain positive, despite Franken’s increasingly negative campaign.
Two other outside polls (Emerson and Cygnal) verify these results, making it clear that the latest Iowa poll was an outlier.
Not only does Senator Grassley continue to out-fundraise Mike Franken, but Grassley is also hammering Franken on the airwaves.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “Iowa GOP voter registration is up, and Senator Chuck Grassley has a comfortable double-digit lead. All signs point to Grassley being re-elected to another term this November.”
