Washington, D.C. – Today, a new poll was released showing the race between Senator Maggie Hassan and General Don Bolduc in a dead heat. Senator Hassan leads General Bolduc 49% – 47%, well within the poll’s 4% margin of error.
But the poll also contains another massive nugget of information: While Democrats lead by one on the generic ballot (48%-47%), undecided voters favor a generic Republican by 20 points (27% – 7%).
It’s not hard to understand why the numbers in New Hampshire have moved so decisively toward Gen. Bolduc and the Republicans. Maggie Hassan has been all but invisible from the campaign trail, attempting to bunker down and ride out her re-election bid from her homes in Washington, Cambridge, and the Rhode Island beaches.
Meanwhile, Gen. Bolduc is barnstorming New Hampshire, drawing hundreds of Granite Staters to mid-day, mid-week rallies and building an unmistakable energy.
In New Hampshire, retail politics always wins the day.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Maggie Hassan forgot this is a fight. She has proven through her actions that she is taking Granite Staters for granted. General Bolduc never has and never will. Not only is Maggie Hassan wrong on the issues, but she is also the wrong choice when deciding who will work harder and serve New Hampshire more directly.”
