The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee experienced yet another major recruiting failure today when Indiana state Representative Christina Hale announced she won’t run for the United States Senate.
In addition to their failure to recruit former Senator Evan Bayh, former Senator Kay Hagan, and Josh Shapiro in Pennsylvania, Hale is just the latest failure in what has been a rough recruiting summer for the DSCC.
“The DSCC is flailing in its attempts to recruit candidates across the country,” said NRSC spokesman Matt Connelly. “Today’s failure in Indiana is just the latest in a string of recruitment failures that will hurt Senate Democrats in 2016.”
The DSCC has not yet endorsed their sole candidate in Indiana, Baron Hill, another of what has become a number of failed retread Democratic candidates running in 2016.
In a sign of open discord among national Democrats, Senator Harry Reid has endorsed Baron Hill (the DSCC has failed to) and even recently held a fundraiser for the DC lobbyist in Washington.
