Good afternoon –

Earlier today, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) waded into yet another contested Democratic primary when they endorsed Tammy Duckworth in Illinois. Yet they still haven’t endorsed Ann Kirkpatrick in Arizona, even though she is the only Democrat in the race.

Let’s not forget that NBC News called Kirkpatrick a “top recruit” but the DSCC has refused to endorse her. Additionally, in 2012 the DSCC quickly endorsed Arizona Democrat Richard Carmona.

Why is the DSCC acting like this? Maybe the DSCC knows she can’t credibly challenge Arizona’s John McCain, or maybe there is something else in her personal history that only they know which is making them reluctant to endorse her.

BACKGROUND …

THE ARIZONA REPUBLIC: "While Kirkpatrick has been securing plenty of Democratic support in Arizona, national Republicans have been needling the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee for not formally endorsing her." (Dan Nowicki, GOP needles Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, The Arizona Republic, 06/27/15)
