According to Investor’s Business Daily:
Providing still more evidence of how ObamaCare is "working," most enrollees learned this year that they had to pay back a huge chunk of their insurance subsidies. So much for "affordability."
Roughly 5.5 million ObamaCare enrollees had to return, on average, almost a quarter of their premium subsidies. Given that these subsidies are available only to families with modest incomes, that’s got to hurt.
The figures are staggering.
H&R block notes in their annual report:
Almost two-thirds of tax filers who received insurance via the state or federal insurance Marketplaces had to pay back an average of $729 of the Advance Premium Tax Credit (APTC), cutting their potential refund by almost one-third.
**When tax season rolled around, millions of Americans were shocked and confused to learn that they now owe Uncle Sam a few extra thousands of dollars in tax returns.
This story is just the latest example of how President Obama’s signature law continues to harm the American people.**
