Senator Sherrod Brown has a new fundraising pitch, railing against Big Pharma and their lobbyists. But apparently, Brown’s fundraising team forgot to check their own records.
It appears that while Senator Brown is willing to condemn drug companies in his grassroots pitch, he has no problem cashing checks from Big Pharma. Over the course of his career, Senator Brown has taken $483,397 from the pharmaceutical industry.
“If Senator Sherrod Brown truly wants to fight Big Pharma’s influence in Washington, he could start by returning the hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign cash the industry has given to him,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Senator Brown pretends that he’s fighting for the little guy, but in reality, he’s just another Washington liberal, happy to line his pockets with donations from the very industries he publicly condemns.”
