Far-Left socialist Democrats are pressuring Schumer to “take action.” But is it the type of action that gets results for American workers and families? Not so much. Take it from The Daily Beast today:
Instead of charting a productive, bipartisan course, Schumer wants “a month of taking the L in hopes that those losses eventually turn into wins” by getting rid of the filibuster to pass a systemic socialist agenda.
- “Bring It On”: It’s what far-Left Senators up this cycle like California’s Alex Padilla want: “If any of these lead to the reform or elimination of the filibuster, my response, is bring it on.”
- “False Choice”: But Padilla’s next door neighbor in Arizona, Kyrsten Sinema, has made it clear “to those who say that we must make a choice between the filibuster and ‘X,’ I say, this is a false choice.”
- Lock Step with Socialists: Yet those who are thinking of running for the Senate, including Pennsylvania’s Conor Lamb, are calling for an end to the filibuster to walk in lock step with a socialist Democrat base.
Why is Schumer setting up things to fail? To avoid a primary with AOC and make progressives happy. Take it from Leah Greenberg, co-founder of the far-Left group Indivisible:
“We are pleased to see [Schumer] trying to move this forward …”
But the more Schumer pleases the socialist Left, the more he endangers his most vulnerable members: Maggie Hassan, Raphael Warnock, Mark Kelly, Michael Bennet and Catherine Cortez-Masto.
