Washington, D.C. – Things continue to go from bad to worse for Senator Maggie Hassan as she suffers yet another major slip in public opinion. According to a poll by St. Anselm College, Maggie Hassan’s job approval sits 6 points underwater. Nearly half of respondents, 49%, disapprove of her job performance, while only 43% approve. This is a 4-point slide for Hassan since March when 47% of Granite Staters approved of the job she was doing in Washington.
But the bad news from the poll doesn’t stop there for Hassan. A whopping 59% of respondents say the country is on the “wrong track.” Additionally, concern over COVID-19 has waned while concern about inflation (83% concerned) and government spending (77% concerned) has skyrocketed.
Unfortunately for Hassan, she is a driving force behind these concerns as a member of the party in control of Washington. Her votes for reckless spending bills have caused inflation to skyrocket.
Adding to Hassan’s woes are the unpopular bills she continues to push. Earlier this month, the “Corrupt Politicians Act”, which Hassan cosponsored, was soundly rejected by the New Hampshire House of Representatives. The State House joins the Governor and Democrat Secretary of State in their disgust over a bill that would put the Granite State’s first-in-the-nation primary status at risk.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Maggie Hassan’s numbers are in freefall and there is no hope on the horizon for a rebound. Voters are making their voices heard: they don’t support Maggie Hassan or her big government, big spending Washington agenda. New Hampshire voters are restless and itching for a change. If Hassan’s numbers continue down this path, they will get one in 2022.”
