Washington, D.C. – This week, at a forum in Holly Springs featuring State Senator Jeff Jackson and former State Senator Erica Smith, a question was asked regarding the candidates’ opinion on Critical Race Theory.
Erica Smith’s position on this issue is well known, having said in May, “In building a more just society, there has to be an understanding of critical race theory and not just in North Carolina, but in our nation.” Jeff Jackson, on the other hand, punted, saying simply that teachers and education professionals should write the curriculum.
Umm, Senator, that’s exactly what we’re talking about – radical academics who want to re-write history to include inaccurate, race-based narratives that advance their modern political agendas.
