Washington, D.C. – Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) went on Boston television on Sunday only to repeatedly duck questions about the $3.5 trillion (actually, $5 trillion) socialist spending bill written and promoted by Bernie Sanders. The bill contains record spending while our nation reels from skyrocketing inflation as well as major tax hikes on New Hampshire small businesses.
Although many details of the bill have been known for months, Hassan refused to say whether she supports the bill. She did tip her hand, however, admitting that the bill would likely need to be forced through the Senate through reconciliation, thus cutting out bipartisanship altogether.
It’s obvious that Senator Hassan is no moderate, and there is no better evidence than her inability to reject Bernie’s radical spending spree right away.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Maggie Hassan supports Bernie Sanders’ $5 trillion spending spree; she just can’t say it yet. This bill, already dismissed by moderate Democrats, should be incompatible with any principle of bipartisanship or responsible spending. But that’s just the thing – Hassan does not share those principles and it’s why she will be held responsible for the economic damage caused by her party’s policies.”
