Washington, D.C. – In what can only be described as one of the most hypocritical 30 seconds in congressional history, Congresswoman Cori Bush (D-MO) defended her use of expensive private security to protect her, while immediately going on to say that we need to defund the police who protect those less privileged. Bush has long opposed funding police forces, once tweeting: “Investing more money in policing is always bad, actually.”
Recently, former North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Cheri Beasley filed a Joint Fundraising Committee (JFC) with Congresswoman Bush to help fundraise off the socialist Left that makes up Bush’s (and Beasley’s) base.
This is far from Bush’s first outlandish statement, and her greatest hits list is too long to include in one press release. For example, on the Fourth of July, she tweeted, “When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they’re referring to is for white people. This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.”
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Cheri Beasley’s favorite congresswoman is at it again, putting on a hypocrisy tour de force in front of the Capitol. It’s clear that Beasley finds a political kindred spirit in Bush. That should be a terrifying thought to North Carolina voters across the political spectrum. Not all North Carolinians can afford private security, which is why police forces are necessary, especially in underprivileged communities. Apparently, this simple logic is lost on Congresswoman Bush and Cheri Beasley.”
