Washington, D.C. – Cheri Beasley’s old friend, Congresswoman Cori Bush, is at it again. This time she is fierily defending policies that would “Defund the Police,” even after many in her party have pleaded with her to stop.
This comes just as a new Politico/Morning Consult poll found that 2 out of 3 voters believe that INCREASING police funding would actually help alleviate the crime that is plaguing cities across America.
Bush has been pushing to defund the police, and saying much worse, for years. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop Cheri Beasley from aligning her fundraising with Bush’s shortly after jumping in the race.
While she was recently caught trying to undo their alliance, Beasley can’t feign ignorance. She chose Bush because she agrees with her.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Cheri Beasley knew Cori Bush was the leader of the ‘Defund the Police’ movement long before she joined her JFC. It’s Bush’s most visible cause, and what drives her fundraising. Therefore, anytime she utters the phrase ‘Defund the Police,’ it is like Cheri Beasley said it herself.”
