Washington, D.C. – The most endangered Senate Democrats are at it again.  First, they create a gimmick gas tax, and now they are feigning outrage over the Biden Administration’s plan to scrap Title 42 – a public health measure that slowed the rate of illegal immigrants into the country to help curb COVID-19.

While Senators Raphael Warnock, Maggie Hassan, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Mark Kelly have all made statements denouncing the Administration’s plans, they are conveniently leaving out their record of opposing Title 42 in the first place!

In August of 2021, less than 8 months ago, each of these Senators voted TO END Title 42!

In the case of Catherine Cortez Masto, the evidence is even more damning.  She signed a letter that called Title 42 the “CDC asylum ban,” and said it was “designed to further an ongoing agenda to exclude asylum seekers.”

Now, these Senators are scrambling, and Maggie Hassan is headed to the border for a photo op.   How on earth can these Senators look voters in the face and stand by their blatant election year hypocrisy?

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Democrats have not given a rip about border security for a year and a half.  Now they are trying to save their poll numbers by flip-flopping on Title 42.  The shamelessness would be funny if these vulnerable Senators didn’t think it would work.  They are spitting on voters and telling them it’s raining.  Don’t buy it.”
