Washington, D.C. – Today, Ketanji Brown Jackson (KBJ) was confirmed as the newest Justice of the Supreme Court.
KBJ skated through her Democrat-controlled confirmation hearing without answering many simple – but important – questions, such as whether or not she supports court-packing, something retiring Justice Stephen Breyer and the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg opposed. This is of particular concern given her soft-on-crime record and leniency toward drug traffickers.
It’s no surprise that vulnerable senators like Raphael Warnock, Maggie Hassan, Mark Kelly, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Michael Bennet, who have consistently rubber-stamped Biden’s agenda in the Senate voted to confirm Judge Jackson who will do the same on the court.
Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “Today’s confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson reflects the continued danger of a Democrat-controlled Senate. KBJ is outside the mainstream on many legal issues and failed to give satisfactory answers to some very basic questions during her hearing, such as why she was consistently lenient on child sexual predators. Radical Senate Democrats have consistently voted however Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer ask them to. Today is no different.”
