Washington, D.C. – Just a couple of days after Cheri Beasley launched her first TV ad that failed to mention North Carolina voters’ biggest concern – inflation – Joe Biden is headed to North Carolina A&T to remind them.
Beasley has done her best to keep her distance from the President and from taking stances on any major issues for that matter. In fact, she has yet to even acknowledge the Commander-in-Chief’s visit. This is no surprise as she ducked Vice President Harris’ trip last month.
It’s not hard to see why. President Biden’s approval rating in North Carolina sits at 35%, well below the national average, and Chuck Schumer’s PAC appears to be writing off the state off as a lost cause.
Any momentum Cheri Beasley hoped to gain through the launch of her television ad is now scuttled.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Joe Biden – and his 35% approval rating – is less welcome in North Carolina than a Kansas fan right now. Maybe the least happy person to see him in town is Cheri Beasley. Chuck Schumer’s PAC is already writing the state off because of Biden’s unpopularity and Beasley’s lackluster campaign. Reminding voters of the failed Biden agenda, and Beasley’s support of it, is just another reason a Republican will win in November.”
