Washington, D.C. – Today, Maggie Hassan and Raphael Warnock voted against Senator John Thune’s bill to end Biden’s mask mandate for toddlers in Head Start programs. The mandate extends to all children above the age of two, staff, volunteers, and contractors. Biden’s authoritarian mandate even forces children in Head Start programs to wear masks while they are on the playground.
The science is clear: masking is detrimental to the development of young children. The Preventing Mandates on Toddlers Act would give power back to American parents to decide if their young children should be masked all day at school. But Senate Democrats believe those decisions should be made by unelected bureaucrats in D.C.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman Jonathan Turcotte: “D.C. bureaucrats are the last people who should be making decisions for American parents. But Senate Democrats like Raphael Warnock and Maggie Hassan are once again siding with the Biden Administration’s draconian mask mandates for American children. They will always put their bosses in D.C. before the needs of American families.”
