Washington, D.C. – Today, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will testify in front of the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
Over the past month, Maggie Hassan, who serves on the committee, has gone full MAGA and paid the price by losing support from liberals, immigrant activist groups, and more.
We are sure that Hassan will put on an Oscar-worthy performance of feigned concern, while never actually holding his feet to the fire.
In an attempt to save Hassan’s staff, the laborious task of trying to catch up on all the problems at the border and the various ways their boss’s votes have made it worse, here are some questions that they are free to use and include in their boss’s script:
- Title 42 will undoubtedly lead to a massive influx of new migrants; do we have anywhere near the capacity to process such volume?
- As a follow-up, what is the rate at which new migrants actually show up to their hearing?
- A Texas National Guardsman died while trying to rescue a drowning migrant last week, and footage of a migrant tragically left to drown went viral on the internet in recent days – why is this horrifying loss of life being allowed to happen on your watch?
- As I have just found out, we actually NEED a wall in many places at the Southern Border. Would you say that the Administration – and myself! – have been totally wrong on this issue?
- Should the “Stay in Mexico” policy be codified into law by Congress?
- Is the asylum provision being abused? If so, what changes should be made?
- It appears many of those trying to come across the Southern Border are not from Central and South America. Why is that? Do we have a grasp on why they are coming and who they are, by and large?
