Washington, D.C. – Maggie Hassan loves to pass the buck from her votes and throw the blame for high gas prices on U.S. oil companies.  But when news broke that the Biden Administration sold some of our strategic petroleum reserves to China and other nations instead of keeping it in America, Hassan has been absolutely silent, as the NH Journal points out.

With the average cost for a gallon of gasoline in America hovering around $5 for months, it is beyond comprehension why our government is selling our petroleum reserves to our greatest geopolitical foe.

America needs more supply in the market, and fast.  Hassan knows this but knows she can’t talk about it.  That’s because Hassan’s record on American energy is abysmal as her voting record indicates:

  • Hassan voted against Natural Gas exploration.
  • Hassan voted against the Keystone Pipeline.
  • Hassan voted against responsible energy exploration in ANWR.
  • Hassan supported tying the federal gas tax to inflation.
  • Hassan raised the gas tax by 23% as Governor.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “President Joe Biden and Senator Maggie Hassan are so hellbent on destroying the oil and gas industry, they not only have voted to stop more production but are now actively sending U.S. petroleum out of the country to geopolitical enemies like China!  It’s unconscionable.  The Biden/Hassan energy agenda is a hostage of the Green New Deal radicals, and their actions show no regard for the pain felt by Americans everywhere.”
