In case they missed it, Democratic former Congressman Dennis Eckart and Cleveland.com‘s Henry Gomez recapped Retread Ted’s week in a must-watch segment on WKYC‘s "Between The Lines."

From the ineffectiveness of Retread Ted’s latest TV ad — "nobody will see it," to his decision to celebrate the death of a Supreme Court justice — "terrible," check out some highlights of the segment below:

Democrat Dennis Eckart on Senate Majority PAC’s desperate ad campaign: "That guy on the Segway is just not getting it done"

ECKART: I’ll tell you who’s winning the battle of the TV ads. That guy on the Segway just is not getting it done. In contrast to Portman, whose TV and campaign is tight – it’s personal. He talks about heroin and the incredible locality of the heroin discussion…human trafficking. And then that ad with the US flag over his shoulder talking about America competing. That they’re running in the Olympics underscores how Portman has humanized and Ohioized his campaign in a very personal way. There’s no competition when it comes to the TV ads.

Cleveland.com‘s Henry Gomez on Retread Ted Strickland’s unforced errors: "The Scalia remark this week was terrible"

GOMEZ: Let’s give some credit where it’s due to Ted Strickland for making it a lot easier for Rob Portman to play this error-free ball because Ted Strickland has made so many unforced errors of his own.

BERES: The Scalia remark this week.

GOMEZ: The Scalia remark this week was terrible for Ted Strickland. He told a group of laborers that the timing of that death was great for them…You just can’t make those kind of comments when you’re in a tight race fighting for your political life.

Eckart on Retread Ted’s low-energy fundraising: "There is no money in the Strickland campaign"

ECKART: There is no money in the Strickland campaign and with this national ad that Ted’s friends are running for him with this guy on the Segway – if that’s their style, they are not talking to Ohio voters. Ted has to talk to Ohio voters.

Eckart on Retread Ted’s latest TV ad: "Nobody will see it"

BERES: We saw a nice warm and fuzzy Strickland through the years life and times biographical piece. But that going to connect?

ECKART: Ten dollars versus a million dollars. Nobody will see it.
