On Thursday, PoliticoPro revealed Rep. Baron Hill’s (D-IN) struggling campaign finance numbers for the Indiana Senate seat. In 27 days, he collected a disappointing $151.
“The DSCC currently lists Indiana at the “top of the list of competitive races this cycle,” but their recruit Congressman Baron Hill reported today he only raised a pathetic $151,000 this quarter and has a measly $143,000 cash on hand. Yikes.”

Baron Hill was first elected to the House in 1998 then losing to Mike Sodrel in 2004. Hill returned to Congress again in 2007. Since his defeat to Todd Young in 2010, it seems that five years out of office has negatively affected his support from the Democratic Party and support groups.
They are not the only ones unsettled. His desperately low funds seem to have caught the attention of Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD), who will be hosting a fundraiser for Hill in Washington, D.C.
In this race and all over the country we see this trending theme of poor Democratic strategy and bad candidates. With 2016 just around the corner, it is easy to see a bright future shaping up for the Senate Republican Majority.
