Senate Democrats seem confused why Americans are in strong support of the GOP tax relief plan, but it’s easy to understand. The GOP tax relief plan is already giving Americans more of their own money back in their pockets and putting Americans back to work. Yet, Senate Democrats still won’t be honest about the success of the GOP tax cuts even though the Chicago Tribune reported:
“Paychecks are increasing for 90 percent of American due to the tax overhaul.”
This is great news for Americans who are finally getting the economic boost they need and deserve. But it’s bad news for Democrats, who will have a hard time explaining why every single one of them voted NO on tax cuts.
The Proof is in the Paycheck: Support for Tax Relief Grows
Despite their dire talking points, tax relief is already working the way Republicans predicted. According to CNBC, across the country, small businesses are feeling more confident in the economy because of tax reform, allowing them to hire more workers and raise wages for existing employees.
And as Americans across this country have seen the benefits of tax relief in their own paychecks, support for the law has grown. A new poll shows that a majority of Americans support GOP tax cuts, with approval growing up 14 percentage points since December.
Companies Boost Workers Following Tax Reform
Most Americans support the GOP tax plan because even though Senate Democrats lied, their paychecks don’t. More than 350 companies have announced bonuses, wage increases, and additional employee benefits such as maternity leave and child care. Companies are investing back into their communities because of this tax overhaul – led by Republicans.
As the New York Times pointed out, with popular opinion and paychecks increasing, Senate Democrats should be nervous about November. The American people will remember that Senate Democrats refused to let Americans keep more money in their own pockets.
With report after report after report coming out about the success of tax relief, Senate Democrats will increasingly regret their refusal to support middle class tax cuts when they had the chance.
