Last week, Senator Joe Donnelly emailed his donors, asking them to donate so his seat wouldn’t become a “yes vote for the Trump-GOP agenda.”
However, Indiana overwhelmingly supported Republicans and President Donald Trump. President Trump carried the state by 20 points. Senator Todd Young won by double digits, and Governor Eric Holcomb was able to defeat his opponent after Vice President Mike Pence joined the President Trump ticket.
While Hoosiers support the GOP agenda, Sen. Donnelly is ready to sign up for the resistance, working to stop President Trump at every turn.
But Sen. Donnelly isn’t the only senator with resistance fever. Senator Kamala Harris, a California liberal who was described as “right at home in the resistance,” is now vouching for Senator Jon Tester. She emailed donors asking them to donate to her “ally” Sen. Tester, highlighting “his resistance to Trump’s agenda.”
You are the company you keep. And in this case, Sen. Tester is ignoring the majority of his state to keep the company of top resistance leaders.
While Montanans chose President Trump by 20 points, Sen. Tester has decided his Washington bosses are more important. It could be for the swanky vacations, or it could be for the special interest money. Whatever it is, it’s more important to him than Montanans.
Following in the footsteps of her Cancun buddy, Sen. Tester, Senator Claire McCaskill had her pal Sen. Harris email donors asking them to support her campaign because the “resistance to Trump hinges” on Sen. McCaskill’s race.
Sen. McCaskil seems to be forgetting that her fellow Missourians support President Trump, as he beat Hillary Clinton by almost 20 points. Her fellow Missourians also voted Republicans Eric Greitens as their governor and Roy Blunt for Senate. Maybe Sen. McCaskill should spend more time focused on the people of Missouri and their needs rather than lining up with California liberals.
Sen. Bob Casey had his friend Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York email donors, asking them to donate so that they could “keep up our firewall” against the GOP and ensure President Trump’s agenda “hits a dead end.”
Sen. Casey seems to be ignoring that Pennsylvanians support President Donald Trump and the Republican Party seeing as President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton and Senator Pat Toomey defeated Democrat Katie McGinty.
Sen. Casey’s email once again demonstrates that he has no interest in being a bipartisan Senator who crosses the aisle to represent Pennsylvanians. The career politician used to be a moderate Democrat, but has since made pushing back against President Donald Trump his only role in politics, leaving the people of Pennsylvania behind.
We can’t let these four senators get away with ignoring their voters.
Help us outraise the Democrats. Pitch in today so we can continue to build the foundation we need, so we can hold our majority in 2018:
