On Monday, Harry Reid talked Democratic Senate races with the Washington Post. He weighed in on a list of races, touting his untested rookies and his failed retread candidates. The list looks more like the who’s who of Democratic establishment candidates, chosen by the Democratic kingmaker, Harry Reid himself.
Of course, Catherine Cortez Masto tops the list seeing as she’s Harry Reid’s hand-picked successor and direct product of the "Reid Machine."

Another candidate who has captured the attention of Failed Leader Harry Reid is Governor Gridlock Maggie Hassan. Reid [learned quite a bit about creating gridlock](http://www.nrsc.org/blog/harry-reids-retirement-a-boon-for-congress) during his time as leader of the Senate, so he can really relate to the [partisan politics](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQL7WHRz8fM) Governor Hassan brought to New Hampshire’s statehouse.

With so many [messy Democratic primaries](http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/01/us/politics/democrats-republicans-senate-2016-races.html), it can be difficult to keep track of who the establishment candidates are. Luckily, Harry Reid effectively cleared that up in his interview.
Ted Strickland made Reid’s list as Ohio’s chosen retread candidate. Retread Ted faces a challenger, PG Sittenfeld, who is proving to be quite an obstacle for Strickland. A pro-Sittenfeld Super PAC announced they raised [$370,000](http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2015/10/super_pac_for_pg_sittenfeld_ra.html) in two weeks, which is bad news for Harry Reid’s candidate.

Katie McGinty was also lucky enough to receive a Harry Reid shoutout. Harry Reid “wishes” there wasn’t a primary so he could hand-pick Pennsylvania’s Democratic candidate, but unfortunately, that’s not the case.

Harry Reid is scrambling to maintain control in his Senate primaries, but with all the Senate Democrats’ recruiting struggles, it’s been tough. Harry Reid and establishment Democrats’ involvement only make messy primaries even messier.
