After previous outcry from several prominent Ohio Democrats, the Democratic primary battle wages on between Ted Strickland and P.G. Sittenfeld.
The NewsDemocrat reports:
According to widely circulated reports Sittenfeld was supposed to drop out of the race if Strickland jumped in. In his remarks Friday Sittenfeld did not allude to that or the fact the Ohio Democrat Party, in an unheard of move this early in a primary, endorsed Strickland for Senate.
Defiant as ever, P.G. Sittenfield refuses to back down. When asked if he would step aside for the Democratic Party of Ohio’s chosen candidate, P.G. stated,
“We are full speed ahead. I am out there energizing voters with my vision for the future and that’s what we are going to keep doing,” replied Sittenfeld. “Ted Strickland and I were in regular touch leading up to the race and through the time we both decided to run. I want to make this race about the future not the past."
Will P.G. Sittenfeld be able to overcome the Ohio Democratic Party’s endorsement of Ted Strickland to become Ohio’s Democratic Senate nominee?
**Only time will tell.
In the meantime, Ohio Democrats remain divided as ever.**
