The NRSC has paid off all debts going into the 2016 cycle. The Washington Examiner reported:
The NRSC, formerly the National Republican Senatorial Committee, closed the month with $6.5 million in the bank and no debt left over from the 2014 elections. The $4.1 million raised by the committee constituted its most successful June fundraising ever for an off year. Two years ago in June, the NRSC raised only $3.7 million.
While the DSCC may have raised more in June, they’re forgetting one very important thing: they still have $10.3 million in debt. They started the cycle owing $15 million.
The Hill reported on a statement given by the NRSC’s Communications Director, Andrea Bozek:
“Only would Democrats in Washington believe they are in good financial standing by being $15 Million in debt,” Bozek said in a statement. “We are proud to be debt free this early in the cycle and look forward to having the real resources to highlight how Democrats have driven our country deeper and deeper in debt.”
The DSCC’s financial report simply reiterates Senate Democrats’ lack of fiscal responsibility. They have continuously increased our country’s debt, but the Republican majority is working to fix the budget mess they have made.
The NRSC is proud to have a bank account in the green with no liabilities. The DSCC still has a negative bank account, and they have a long way to go to pay off their debts.
