One would think they would want to introduce themselves to voters, but these Democrats are hoping to hide instead.
Catherine Cortez Masto Fears Northern Nevada
Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto and Representative Joe Heck agreed to three debates, but Cortez Masto has refused to say if she’ll follow through on debates in Northern Nevada.
Cortez Masto may be avoiding Elko since her last trip didn’t go so well. Lahontan Valley News reported on the "ill-fated trip:"
We find this disturbing that a candidate for the U.S. Senate would want to shun the press from her stops across Nevada. What is even more disturbing, her actions are also shutting the door on many Nevadans who may have wanted to hear her plan on the $1,000 tax cut.
While rural Nevadans want to hear from Cortez Masto, she has a history of shutting them out. Looks like Northern Nevadans won’t be seeing her anytime soon.
Maggie Hassan Fears Her National Security Record
In New Hampshire, Senator Kelly Ayotte proposed a debate focusing on one of Granite Staters’ and Americans’ greatest priorities right now: national security. Governor Maggie Hassan turned down the opportunity to tell voters how she plans to keep them and their families safe, but Democrats didn’t stop there. One Democratic aide went on to call our national security a "sideshow."

As terrorism continues to inspire attacks inside our borders, it’s appalling Hassan wouldn’t be up front with voters about how exactly she intends to stop these attacks.
Patrick Murphy Fears His Own Record
Senator Marco Rubio participated in six debates in 2010, so he offered the same number to Representative Patrick Murphy, including one on Spanish-language TV. After Murphy finally agreed to at least two debates, he "refused" to commit to any more than those.
Additionally, Murphy desperately needs to make gains with Hispanic voters. Univision showed Rubio has a 46 percent to 39 percent lead over Murphy. Despite this, Murphy still wants to hide behind the curtain. We can only imagine his record must be pretty bad if he won’t even agree to one Spanish-language debate.
Katie McGinty Fears Another Flop
Katie McGinty is yet another Democratic candidate accepting less debates than offered. Senator Pat Toomey agreed to four debates while McGinty has agreed to a mere two: one in Philadelphia, the other in Pittsburgh. Katie McGinty has left Central Pennsylvania high and dry. The Daily Item reported:
Any thoughts that the first debate between Republican U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey and Democratic challenger Katie McGinty might be held Oct. 6 at Bucknell University, in Lewisburg, were dashed on Monday when Bucknell had to cancel the open date after the two parties could not agree on the total number of debates prior to election day.
Toomey has proposed four debates; McGinty has agreed to two.
Bucknell was ready to play its part, said university spokesman Andy Hirsch, on Monday.
McGinty’s decision to evade Central Pennsylvanians even made front page news:
One major difference between McGinty and other Democrats is that we don’t need to make guesses as to what she’s hiding. We know exactly what it is: She’s an "underwhelming" speaker. Just take a look at the reviews of her national speech at the Democratic Convention.
