Despite Republican tax relief’s widespread success and popularity, Senator Heidi Heitkamp in an interview last night with local TV station KVRR doubled down on her opposition to the law, saying she did not regret voting against the tax cuts that are providing North Dakotans with higher wages, bigger paychecks and more job opportunities.

Heitkamp’s partisan opposition looks even more ridiculous after a new study revealed that North Dakotans would be receiving the largest average tax cut in the country. With the economic benefits from the tax cuts piling up, voters need to ask why Heidi Heitkamp has no regrets about denying them the opportunity to keep more of their hard-earned money.

“As North Dakota voters learn the lengths Heidi Heitkamp is willing to go to deny them the opportunity to keep more money in their pockets, they’ll make sure they don’t repeat their mistake of electing her to the U.S. Senate,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Heitkamp has proven she can’t be trusted to stand up for North Dakotans.”
