Washington, D.C. – Wisconsin candidate Mandela Barnes is on the campaign trail touting his “support for Israel.” However, what he fails to mention is his past membership, until 2019, in one of the most vocal anti-Israel groups in the state.
As reported by Washington Free Beacon:
Barnes was a member of the Wisconsin chapter of Peace Action, a fringe anti-war group that has promoted boycotts of the Jewish state, defended Palestinian terrorist groups, and lobbied the U.S. government to open diplomatic ties with Iran and North Korea.
His work with the group raises questions about his stance on Israel—which has shifted during his Senate campaign—and is likely to increase scrutiny into his far-left foreign policy positions as he faces off against incumbent Republican senator Ron Johnson in the competitive race.
This isn’t the only radical position that Barnes is attempting to run away from, which also includes his liberal stances on defunding the police, abolishing ICE, and thinking members of the Socialist Squad are ‘brilliant.’
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “This is going to be the theme with Barnes for the next 78 days: attempting to run away from his liberal stances. But voters in Wisconsin aren’t as dumb as he thinks they are. They see right through his lip service and know his true record of liberal positions.”
