Washington, D.C. — Yesterday, Mandela Barnes refused to say that we are in a recession. He said we are actually dealing with “unprecedented growth.” Yes, he says this despite GDP declining for the second quarter in a row, signaling that the United States is currently in a recession.
If Mandela Barnes doesn’t understand basic math, maybe he shouldn’t be in the U.S. Senate. Watch here or read the transcript below:
ANCHOR: In the senate, you’d have a greater hand in the overall economy. This week, we learned the national economy shrank for the 2nd consecutive quarter. Are we in a recession?
MANDELA BARNES: Well, we’ve seen unprecedented growth for that long time now.
ANCHOR: Growth in terms of what? What do you mean by growth?
MANDELA BARNES: Growth is what leads to inflation. The fact we’ve had more job growth, the fact the unemployment rate is so low, the unfortunate reality that oil and gas companies are having record profit years while gas prices continue to rise across the country. This is a real issue that is impacting Americans, especially people here in the state of Wisconsin.
While he’s following the White House’s lead on economic illiteracy (because all Dems are too ashamed to admit failure), he’s also attempting to run away from all of his other liberal stances like defunding the police, abolishing ICE, and thinking members of the Socialist Squad are ‘brilliant.’
Unfortunately for Barnes, we have receipts.

Barnes can deny reality all he wants, and he can try to run away from his radical positions on the issues, but voters in Wisconsin aren’t as dumb as he thinks they are. They can see right through him.”
