Washington, D.C. – Israel’s Iron Dome is a modern marvel and purely defensive weapons system that has saved the lives of countless innocent Israelis from terrorist rockets. Today, nine members of the House voted against sending money to the only democracy in the Middle East, and only Jewish state on earth, to keep up these critical defenses.
One of the eight Democrats who voted to allow terrorist rockets to fall indiscriminately in civilian neighborhoods was Cheri Beasley’s top surrogate and favorite congresswoman, Cori Bush (D-Mo). In the moments before the vote, Bush ally, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), called Israel an “apartheid state.” After her speech concluded, fellow Democrat Ted Deutch rose to call the speech for what it was, anti-Semitic.
We know Congresswoman Bush hates Israel almost as much as she hates the police, but where does Cheri Beasley stand? This question must unfortunately be asked because thus far in her campaign she refuses to take a position on any meaningful issue.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “The time has come for Cheri Beasley to come out from hiding and take a stand against a radical anti-police, anti-Semitic faction of her party that she has cozied up to for too long. Congresswoman Cori Bush just voted to allow terrorist bombs to fall on innocent Israelis and it deserves a strong rebuke from Beasley. Is the money reaped from socialist donors so important to your campaign that votes like this get a free pass? Shameful.”
