Washington, D.C. – Michael Bennet has been working overtime to convince Coloradans that he doesn’t have one of the most anti-American energy records in the Senate. This comes at a time when Colorado residents are paying obscene amounts for heating oil ahead of winter.
All of this after he stripped American energy producers of many of their means to create more supply and keep our nation 100% energy independent.
Let’s take a deeper look:
- Bennet has voted at least two times against energy exploration in ANWR (Senate Roll Call Votes: 12/2/17, 12/21/17)
- In 2021, Bennet voted four times against advancing the Keystone XL Pipeline, killing roughly 11,000 good-paying jobs in the process (Senate Roll Call Votes: 2/4/21, 2/5/21, 3/6/21, 3/6/21)
- In August, Bennet voted against Sen. John Barrasso’s measure to increase domestic oil production and reduce gas prices.
Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “Gas prices remain high and as Colorado heads toward winter, heating oil costs are really hitting families hard. Senator Michael Bennet has been hostile toward American energy his entire time in Washington, and the impacts of his votes are causing real pain in his state. Joe O’Dea will work to unleash American energy and make us energy independent once again.”
