Washington, D.C. – NRSC Chairman Rick Scott released the following statement on Ted Budd’s primary victory in North Carolina.

Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “Congratulations to Congressman Ted Budd on his primary win in North Carolina. Congressman Budd emerged from a talented primary field by running a strong race focused on the issues that North Carolinians care most about.  The strong Republican turnout across the Tar Heel State shows that voters are fired up and ready to keep their state in Republican hands.

“Meanwhile, Chuck Schumer’s hand-picked, liberal nominee, Cheri Beasley, cruised to an easy Democratic victory.  This will be her last victory of the cycle. Beasley’s judicial record of going easy on violent criminals, and her lockstep support for the Biden agenda are non-starters for voters in a General Election. Washington Democrats may already be cutting bait on their chances in North Carolina, but the NRSC is committed to ensuring Ted Budd is the next U.S. Senator from North Carolina in November.”
