Washington, D.C. – The motto of the Cheri Beasley campaign thus far has been to not take a position on any issue. Unfortunately, her favorite surrogates and primary opponents are pushing her and the Democrat party further to the left than it has ever been.
Just six months since Erica Smith got Jeff Jackson to flip-flop on the filibuster, Cheri Beasley has joined the fold and endorsed scrapping the filibuster. Doing so would fast-track the socialist agenda of the Biden Administration and Senate Democrats that is deeply unpopular with the American people.
Beasley has been feeling the heat from the far-Left since she entered the race, and now it’s getting to her.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Cheri Beasley is a devout liberal just like Jeff Jackson and Erica Smith, it’s just taking her a bit longer to verbalize it. Her support for eliminating the filibuster would usher in a socialist agenda that North Carolinians are strongly opposed to. While the NRSC is opposed to her new-found position, we fully endorse North Carolina Democrats’ race-to-the-Left.”
