Washington, D.C. – “Drag Queen Story Time” is a controversial program popping up at libraries across the nation.  In late June, the office of Senator Catherine Cortez Masto honored Christopher Daniels, aka Miss Ginger Divine, for his work reading sometimes questionable stories to young children while in drag.

Daniels has dismissed concerns from the ‘parental units of America’ that sexually explicit materials are ‘influencing the young impressionable minds of the youth.’ Daniels called the complaint ‘bullshit.’”

Why Cortez Masto believes it’s appropriate to introduce young children to drag queens and sometimes sexually explicit content at such a young age is concerning. But why Cortez Masto would go out of her way to officially honor Daniels is even more outrageous.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Cortez Masto did not reply for comment on the award.  But it is clear that many parents across Nevada demand an answer.
