Washington, D.C. – Catherine Cortez Masto prefers to play political games with Nevadans’ hard-earned money, and luckily for Nevadans, she lost this round.
As gas prices continue to climb across the nation, Cortez Masto teamed up with other vulnerable Senate Democrats in a desperate attempt to enact a gas tax holiday. The problem with Cortez Masto’s plan? It “would not actually change the price of gas in Nevada.” Even the Las Vegas Review-Journal admits that Cortez Masto’s gimmick “wouldn’t change taxes in the Silver State.”

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “The livelihood of hardworking Nevadans is just a game to Catherine Cortez Masto. She is willfully ignoring Nevada law to push a dishonest gimmick that will do nothing to help families or curb skyrocketing inflation.”
