Rob Portman announced today that he has earned the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio (despite Retread Ted’s best attempt to win the group over with campaign photo opps). The Fraternal Order of Police had previously endorsed Ted Strickland in 2006 and 2010.

Sound familiar?

Rob Portman announced yesterday that he __earned the endorsement of the Ohio Conference of Teamsters__, which represents more than 50,000 members from across Ohio. The group – which rarely endorses republicans – had previously endorsed “Retread” Ted Strickland’s campaigns in 2006 and 2010.

But wait, there’s more!

In addition to losing the Teamsters and Fraternal Order of Police endorsements, Retread Ted also recently lost the endorsement of the United Mine Workers of America, which had previously endorsed Strickland in both 2006 and 2010.

Ted Strickland’s campaign is in a tailspin.

In case you missed it, here’s what they are saying about Retread Ted’s campaign bleeding support:

  • Cincinnati Enquirer: “Sen. Rob Portman snatched another key union endorsement from former Gov. Ted Strickland: the Fraternal Order of Police in Ohio.”

  • Washington Examiner: “Ohio Sen. Rob Portman won a second big endorsement from union members in as many days when the Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio announced their support of him over former Gov. Ted Strickland on Tuesday…Overall, this makes three big endorsements for the incumbent Republican from union groups, which generally do not offer many endorsements to Republicans.”

  • Associated Press: “The announcement by the 50,000-member Ohio Conference of Teamsters was an important campaign endorsement for Portman and a political blow to Strickland. The Democrat is a former governor and congressman whose strong relationships with labor have helped him win elections.”

  • Cincinnati Enquirer: “The union, which represents more than 50,000 members across Ohio and nearly always supports Democrats, had endorsed Strickland in 2006 and 2010. But in the tight 2016 Senate race, they chose his competitor, Portman, of Terrace Park.”

  • The Columbus Dispatch: “The union represents 50,000 members across the state. It’s the second big union endorsement Portman, who faces former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, has received: The United Mine Workers has also endorsed him.”

  • NBC 24: “The Ohio Teamsters, which represents 50,000 workers in the state, announced Monday that the union is endorsing republican Senator Rob Portman in his bid for re-election this fall.”

  • Roll Call: “The Ohio Conference of Teamsters endorsed Republican Sen. Rob Portman on Monday despite the organization’s history backing Democrats.”

  • Washington Examiner: “A major union in the swing state of Ohio has thrown its support to one of the most vulnerable Republican senators in the country. The state’s Teamsters thus helps Republican chances of retaining the Senate in a difficult year for the GOP.”

  • Toledo Blade: U.S. Sen. Rob Portman (R., Ohio) picked up the endorsement of the Ohio Conference of Teamsters union Monday… The Ohio Teamsters union supported Democratic Senate candidate Ted Strickland when he ran for governor in 2006 and 2010…”

  • The Hill: “A labor union is throwing its support behind Sen. Rob Portman in his reelection bid, a political win for the lawmaker and a blow to his Democratic opponent. The Ohio Conference of Teamsters, which represents over 50,000 members in the region, announced their support for Portman on Monday.”
