Washington, D.C. – Florida Congresswoman Val Demings is wildly out of touch with Florida voters when it comes to abortion.
- She voted in support of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would allow late-term abortion, even up until the moment of birth.
- She voted to kill both the Hyde and Helms Amendments, which protected taxpayers from funding abortions at home and overseas.
- She was proud to receive the endorsement of pro-Pelosi and pro-abortion group EMILY’s List.
But when put on the spot, she was quick to lie during an interview and claimed she supports abortion “up until the point of viability,” which she doesn’t seem to be quite sure how to define “viability.”
Statement from NRSC Chairman Rick Scott: “Demings’ record shows just how radical she is when it comes to abortion. She supports legalizing abortion up until the moment of birth and forcing taxpayers to fund it. She may try to lie about her position to Florida voters, but they aren’t buying it.”
