As Northeast Ohio Media Group reports:
“When Ohio Democratic Party insiders last gathered for dinner, they enjoyed a double feature: former Gov. Ted Strickland and Cincinnati City Councilman PG Sittenfeld – rivals in next year’s U.S. Senate primary. In the three months since, Strickland has captured the state party’s endorsement. He has jumped out to a big lead over Sittenfeld in early polls. And he has maintained a narrower edge in those polls over the Republican incumbent, Rob Portman. So Saturday night, as Democrats again meet over a meal in the capital, Strickland will have the Senate race spotlight to himself. Sittenfeld, told he would not be permitted to speak because he is not the endorsed candidate, has decided to campaign in Cleveland instead.” (Henry Gomez, Senate race snub? PG Sittenfeld excluded from Ohio Democratic Party’s dinner program, Northeast Ohio Media Group, 06/27/15)
“The liberal brass of the Ohio Democrat Party are so afraid of Democrat PG Sittenfeld that they’ve barred him from speaking at party functions,” said NRSC spokesman Jahan Wilcox. “It just proves that Ted Strickland’s Ohio Democratic Party is Democratic in name only.”
