Washington, D.C. – Crime is rising, and American families are scared and concerned. In fact, more than three-quarters of voters believe that it is one of the biggest problems our nation is facing.
According to POLITICO, “Crime and public safety are proving to be a potent mix of issues in the midterm election, as Republicans relentlessly tie Democrats to a pandemic-era rise in crime on the campaign trail and in TV ads. From Pennsylvania to New Mexico to Ohio, Republicans are airing wall-to-wall ads that attack Democrats for being “dangerously liberal on crime,” as one TV ad aimed at Democrat John Fetterman says in the Pennsylvania Senate race.
Only 17 percent of respondents called crime a minor problem, and 2 percent said it was not a problem at all.
Democrat Mandela Barnes, who is running for Senate in Wisconsin, is accused of being “a ‘defund the police’ Democrat,” in a TV ad backed by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which added that “murder is up in Milwaukee 40 percent, the fourth highest increase in the country.”
Voters are fed up and know that their communities are less safe as law enforcement officers are villainized and poorly funded, especially in major Democrat states and cities. That’s why it comes as no surprise why Republican Senate candidates like Ron Johnson and Dr. Oz are moving up in their states as they outline their plans to support law and order and fight crime. “In the last month, however, the momentum has shifted: Johnson has retaken the lead in polling, and though Oz is still behind Fetterman, he has narrowed the gap in election surveys. Strategists in both parties cited the barrage of TV commercials labeling the Democratic candidates as soft on crime as the driving factor.”
Radical candidates like John Fetterman are realizing their radical agenda on crime is backfiring, and now he is trying to walk it back. Dangerous Democrat Mandela Barnes is feeling the pressure which led him to lie last month about having ANY active law enforcement endorsements.
It is plain and simple: This November voters will vote for who they know will fight for the safety of their communities and families, and that is the exact opposite of today’s Democrat agenda.
