Washington, D.C. – Senate Democrats, especially Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, decided that they should govern by the dictates of their most radical faction, The Squad.
Of course, Schumer made this decision not because he thought it was effective politically, but because he didn’t want the Squad’s leader, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to enter his primary.
Well, Democrats are having major buyer’s remorse for having attached themselves to the Squad, according to Axios:
The entire report is damning, as voters across the country reject the Democrats’ agenda in Washington.
Vulnerable senators from states that are anything but deep-blue are perhaps the most to blame – Mark Kelly, Maggie Hassan, Raphael Warnock, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Michael Bennet. Their embrace of the leftward push of their party means that they are just as much to blame for the Democrats’ current predicament as the Squad is.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “Democrats will reap what they sow. Hitching their wagon to the Squad early on was a disastrous miscalculation fueled by Schumer’s personal political motives. Now, prominent Democrats are coming out publicly to denounce their leadership’s servitude to the Squad. Better to get out in front of the train wreck that everyone sees coming in November than feign surprise when it happens, I suppose.”
