Washington, D.C. – The battle for Georgia isn’t just for an evenly split Senate and Senate committees. It’s for the survival of the liberal agenda.
Already, liberal publications are trying to scare Democrats into saving Warnock with a new boogeyman: Sen. Joe Manchin.
It’s not hard to see why. Manchin, with occasional help from Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, has stood in the way of some of the most liberal policies to be produced by the Democrat-controlled Senate including:
- Killing Joe Biden’s original $3.5 trillion “Build Back Better” proposal.
- Stopping a sweeping Green New Deal- inspired climate overreach.
- Keeping the filibuster in place.
- Stalling judicial nominations with a single Democrat dissension.
- Pausing any liberal legislation from proceeding should there be a Democrat absence.
Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “The difference between a 50-50 Senate and a 51-49 Senate could not be starker. The fact that liberals are already crying about the influence of Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema says a lot about just how far left the Democrats want to take the Senate. Flipping Georgia will put Republicans in a strong position standing alongside a Republican House in slowing the Biden agenda heading into 2024.”
