Another day and another report is out showing the GOP tax cuts are helping Americans across the country. The University of Michigan’s consumer-sentiment index has shown a steep spike in the economic confidence of lower-income Americans.
The report shows that the lower third of American income earners have seen an 11.4 point spike in optimism in the past four months alone. The positive news comes on the heels of the May jobs report, where unemployment fell to 3.8%, tying the lowest unemployment rate in half a century. The May report also showed 223,000 jobs had been added to the market and the unemployment rate has continued to steadily decline.
Economic prosperity will be fresh in the minds, and pocketbooks, of voters as they head to the polls later this year. The continued positive economic news is further proof of the success of the GOP tax cuts that every Senate Democrat chose to vote against. As November looms, red state Democrats will be forced to defend their choice to choose partisanship over middle-class families back home.
