Washington, D.C. – Failed former Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer was setting herself up for another loss in November against Senator Chuck Grassley, but it now appears Finkenauer won’t even make it that far.
Even as the supposed front runner in the race, Finkenauer’s support in Iowa is so dismal that she could not even muster up the signatures needed to qualify for the Democrats’ primary ballot. Iowa Democrats are in such disarray that they’re ignoring the Senate race altogether. How else can they explain not helping their anointed Grassley challenger and ActBlue fundraising robot qualify for the primary ballot?
Even before Abby Finkenauer’s epic ballot failure, Iowa Democrats were set to nominate a far-left candidate who is completely out of touch with hardworking Iowans, which is unchanged even after this embarrassing blunder. Mike Franken and Glenn Hurst – the radical Democrats who actually got enough signatures to stay in the Senate race – are both eager to battle it out to win over Finkenauer’s handful of followers.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “Abby Finkenauer is no stranger to being fired by Iowans, but she at least made it to November last time around.”
