Washington, D.C. – Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) said recently that he disagrees with his House counterpart’s strategy of meddling in Republican primaries and that it’s not something the DSCC is engaged in.

He’s lying.

While Chuck Schumer’s Super PAC and others were spending $10 million in an unsuccessful effort to stop Joe O’Dea in Colorado, the DSCC was helping them by publicizing messaging documents and guidance.  It wasn’t very hard to find either – it was posted right on their website!

Not only that, but the research document posted by the DSCC on their website was created by a staffer for Michael Bennet’s campaign – the same Michael Bennet who rails against dark money in politics.

The DSCC actively worked to help Chuck Schumer’s dark money group meddle in the Republican primary in Colorado. Gary Peters is either lying or he’s too dumb to know what’s going on at the committee he runs.

Statement from NRSC Spokesman Chris Hartline: “Gary Peters is either a liar or he’s too dumb to know what’s going on at the committee he runs. The DSCC was just as invested in meddling in the Colorado Republican primary as anyone else.  By signaling messaging strategies to dark-money outside groups, they added fuel to the fire.  Luckily, Democrats stink at picking winners and losers for Republican voters, so they lost millions in Colorado.  We can only hope their hubris continues to cost them money and elections.”
