El American: National Republican Senatorial Committee Ad Accuses Cheri Beasley of Protecting Criminals as a Judge
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released a new ad singling out Democrat Cheri Beasley, a former North Carolina Supreme Court Justice, for rulings with which she has “failed” citizens.
Titled “NC: Discovery,” the new 30-second ad highlights three of the Court’s past rulings in which Beasley, who is now running for the Senate, has ruled — according to the ad — to the detriment of the safety of North Carolinians.
“In stopping crime and holding criminals accountable, Supreme Court Justice Cheri Beasley has failed us,” the ad says. “Time after time, and case after case, Cheri Beasley protected criminals, not victims. How can we trust her to protect our families?”
The ad, part of a $1.7 million television advertising project, highlights three specific decisions issued by Beasley: overturning the death sentence of a teenage murderer, reversing the conviction of an armed kidnapper, and releasing a double murderer early.

El National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) publicó un nuevo anuncio publicitario señalando a la demócrata Cheri Beasley, exjuez de la Corte Suprema de Carolina del Norte, por fallos con los que “le ha fallado” a los ciudadanos.
Titulado “NC: Discovery”, el nuevo anuncio de 30 segundos, destaca tres de los fallos anteriores de la Corte en los que Beasley, quien ahora es candidata al Senado nacional, ha votado -según afirma el NRSC- en detrimento de la seguridad de los residentes de Carolina del Norte.
“En detener el crimen y responsabilizar a los criminales, la jueza de la Corte Suprema Cheri Beasley nos ha fallado”, dice el anuncio. “Una y otra vez, y caso tras caso, Cheri Beasley protegió a los delincuentes, no a las víctimas. ¿Cómo podemos confiar en ella para proteger a nuestras familias?”.
El anuncio, que forma parte de un proyecto publicitario en televisión de $1.7 millones, destaca tres decisiones específicas emitidas por Beasley: anular la sentencia de muerte de un adolescente asesino, revertir la condena de un secuestrador armado y liberar temprano a un doble asesino.
